Fresh Perspectives
Special presentation by documentary photographer Adam Sings In The Timber about his series, “Indigenizing Colonized Spaces.”
Adam Sings in the Timber is a photographer and photojournalist of the Crow Nation, Apsaalooke. His series,
Indigenizing Colonized Spaces, featured in the Fresh Perspectives exhibition at the SMP, consists of portraits of Native Women wearing traditional regalia in metropolitan settings, in order to illustrate that wherever a person goes, they are on Native land. To underscore that point, Sings in the Timber photographs women who are descended from tribes that originally occupied the land each featured city was built on. Join us for a special presentation by the artist on Tuesday, November 30th at 6PM.
