The Living Landscape

Outing At Ormond Memorial Art Museum & Gardens

Emulating the work of Arno Rafael Minkkinen, students will be challenged to create a "living landscape" of their own design. These landscapes can include self-portraits or incorporate poses/yoga stances made by volunteer models. The idea is to take unique photographs by concentrating on a certain aspect or moment within the scene–looking for sculptural or abstract elements–that blend the body seamlessly with the gardens around them.

The Southeast Museum of Photography's Shoot & Share program is for highly motivated teens, ages 14-17, who are passionate about the visual arts. This program gives teens the opportunity to photograph as a group while receiving feedback and advice on camera exposure, composition techniques and troubleshooting on location. There is no charge for this program, but participants are expected to bring their own cameras and arrange for their own transportation.

Spaces are limited, so registration is required in advance along with a completed off-campus field trip form.
