“This cardstock and Bristol board art piece connect deeply with me because I took inspiration from my favorite novel ‘Omniscient Readers Viewpoint’ by Sing Shong. I wanted to represent the meaning of being chained against time and how it feels as though you are moving through time, but at the same time, it feels like time is not moving and goes in a loop. Similar to a character in the novel where he had to repeat the same life thousands of times. I wanted to create artwork to show my love for this novel, which impacted me. I put lots of time and dedication into making every detail in this piece.”

"I've always admired how fictional media explores different types of characters, and ranges in how they are delivered in their respective genres. I've found deep personal connections in multiple fictional media throughout my entire life, usually attached to specific characters who have left an impact on me. This fueled my desire to constantly create characters who are represented by different designs, piecing together who they are and what story can be told through them. A vital part of character creation is sculpting their walk of life to be interpreted by the audience and in turn create meaning (or in some cases…lack of). From the major and minor aspects of design and storytelling, I always make decisions with an intention towards what I want to communicate. Ultimately, I want my designs to guide my audience through a story, and have it be memorable."
