UCF STUDENT SHOWCASE
SHOWCASES ON DISPLAY UNTIL SATURDAY, MARCH 31, 2018
on display at the news-journal center, located at 221 n. beach street, daytona beach.
Presented in conjunction with the Mike Curb College of Music, Entertainment and Art, the bi-yearly Student Showcase aims to demonstrate the artistry and talent of the students attending the University of Central Florida, earning their Bachelor of Science in Photography at the UCF Eastern Region campus at Daytona State College.
FEATURING WORK BY ANDREW GILBERT AND ROBIN KOVANDA
The third and fourth installment of the Student Showcase features selected photographs from "The All Americans" by Andrew Gilbert and "Once Upon a Time" by photographer Robin Kovanda.
ANDREW GILBERT
Andrew Gilbert is currently in his junior year of college at the University of Central Florida. Andrew specializes in outdoor and adventure lifestyle photography and cinematography. He believes what separates himself (and his work) from the rest of the competition is that he is willing to go to extremes–no matter the weather conditions or circumstances–in order to capture an image. His motivation is to produce the best possible product that will satisfy both his client and himself.
ROBIN KOVANDA
Robin Kovanda is currently in her last semester of studies at the University of Central Florida. Robin specializes in retouching and manipulating digital photographs, creating her own brand of composited imagery with a very distinct style. She uses Adobe Photoshop to craft her stunning imagery, and she loves the creative freedom that comes with building a scene (or a whole new world) from her own imagination.
UCF's Bachelor of Science in Photography degree is a collaborative program, a 2+2 agreement with Daytona State College. Students who have completed the A.S. in Photographic Technology from Daytona State College are automatically admitted into the photography program at the University of Central Florida.
