Join us June 11, 2021 as the Southeast Museum of Photography proudly presents Picturing the Avant-Garde with presentations by three of the artists featured in the exhibition!

Location: Mori Hosseini Center Ballroom, Building 1200, Rm 103

Date: Friday, June 11, 2021

Time: Doors open at 5:00PM to allow ample time for guest arrival and seating

Event reception: 6:00 – 7:30PM

Reception details: Three artist presentations (approx 20-25min each) with time at the end for Q+A. Presentations by Jaime Aelavanthara, Jillian Marie Browning, and Karen Hymer.

Health + Safety Information

Registration is required prior to the event; no drop-ins on the day of the event will be permitted.

Seating will be assigned at the time of registration, which corresponds to the number available seats in the ballroom.

The gallery is open to the public from 11am to 5pm on Fridays. We propose the event to start at 5pm to allow sufficient time for guests to arrive and get seated. The presentations will begin at 6pm and last approximately an hour and a half.

Capacity restrictions will be in place to ensure social distancing and allow at least six-feet between parties throughout ballroom.

Visitors will be required to RSVP to the reception to ensure capacity limits are observed.

Masks will be required for all visitors and staff throughout the duration of the opening. Disposable masks will be provided for guests who need one.

No food or drink will be consumed on site. However, bottled water and pre-packaged snacks will be available for take-away refreshments.

Hand sanitizer stations will be placed at the entrance of the ballroom and near the refreshments to encourage regular sanitization.

Signage detailing restrictions and guidelines will be placed in highly visible areas throughout the atrium as well as emailed to all guests who RSVP to the event.

SMP staff will be on site to enforce social distancing and ensure the safety of all guests during the reception.

To ensure proper sanitation and safety of our guests, all surfaces of high traffic areas (including but not limited to door handles and desks) will be thoroughly sanitized using Neutra-dis, an anti-viral disinfectant, before and after the event.
