About the Artist:

Born and raised in Florida, Karl Costich served eight years in the U.S. Navy as a P-3C Orion Aviation Structural Mechanic. His military career took him around the world to places such as Hawaii, Okinawa Japan, Guam, Sicily and many others. Experiences that deepened his fascination with flight and his eye for visual storytelling. After leaving the Navy, Karl pursued flight training in Arizona, working as a bartender to support his aviation journey before earning his wings.

Rooted in a family of makers and storytellers, Karl’s mother is a teacher and artist, his father a Merchant Marine Chief Engineer, and his grandparents all worked for Eastman Kodak in Rochester, New York. That legacy of creativity and technical craft continues in his own work as a pilot and photographer. Through his images, Karl captures the rhythm of travel, the geometry of machinery, and the quiet beauty of human experience. Honoring the enduring connection between service and art.
