This unique exposure provides the foundation for creativity and critical thinking, plus encourages a connection to the world around them.

Come create a layered masterpiece–using construction paper, cardstock and other materials–and make as many variations to photograph and frame as you want!
DOTS, SPOTS AND SPROCKETS, OH MY!
Photographer Bennie Flores Ansell uses darkroom filters and analog film materials– recycled and repurposed–to create vivid and multi-dimensional art installations. Her large-scale wall displays often consist of hundreds of individual circles, images that take on new meaning as they depict shapes and “migratory patterns” that create a dramatic tension and draw the eye. Come create your own dots and add your work to a group exhibition!

Choose from a variety of messages and signs, hold them up for the camera, and then print out your photos and add to cardstock. You can also create special accordion-style 3-D cards, plus Cupid's Heart arrow cards to give to family and friends.
All of our participants were eager to design a special card and offer their thoughts of love, encouragement and thanks!
a "message" from our programming director:
I always appreciate seeing families come together to share in a creative learning experience. But our "Messages of Love" activity was designed to take the level of engagement one step further, combining an artistic activity with an opportunity to give back to the men and women who served in our nation's armed forces. I'm grateful for the opportunity to present these programs, and for each and every family that attends and makes it a success! Regarding this particular event, I would like to offer a hearfelt "thanks" to all the children who made Valentine's Day cards for our Art in Action participants, which includes veterans currently attending classes here at Daytona State College as well as those from the local community.
