the impact of photography in space exploration

In cooperation with the Atlantic Center for the Arts, the Southeast Museum of Photography presents a special portion of its permanent collection on exhibit for the first time, titled “Capturing the Cosmos: The Impact of Photography in Space Exploration.” This exhibition serves to commemorate the role of photography in space exploration missions piloted by NASA, including visual records of the historic Apollo Program, the first moon landing, and the capture of iconic intergalactic images from the Hubble Space Telescope that illustrate the intrinsic beauty of our universe.

Atlantic Center for the Arts is a nonprofit interdisciplinary artists' community and arts education facility dedicated to promoting artistic excellence by providing talented mid-career artists an opportunity to work and collaborate with some of the world's most distinguished contemporary artists in the fields of music composition, and the visual, literary, and performing arts. Community interaction is coordinated through on-site and outreach presentations, workshops and exhibitions.
