Blueprints & Impressions: Where Light Meets Ink

DSC Studio Arts- Printmaking ART2400C

Developed under the instruction of Stacey Fletcher Reynolds, whose teaching emphasizes experimentation and interdisciplinary practice.

This body of work explores the intersection of photographic and printmaking processes through the integration of cyanotype and traditional print techniques. By combining light-sensitive chemistry with hand-pulled methods, students engage in a cross-disciplinary approach that balances control and unpredictability. Cyanotype relies on sunlight to produce its signature blue tones, while printmaking introduces layers of pressure, texture, and repetition—creating a dialogue between image capture and image construction.

Each print reflects a negotiation between permanence and process, where exposure and pressure converge, resulting in pieces that serve as both records of experimentation and expressions of material inquiry.
